Founded in 1876 by George Henry Bass, G.H. Bass began with one man and a simple mission: “To make the best possible shoe for the purpose for which it is intended.” In 1936, the brand put a stylish spin on a Norwegian farm shoe designed for “strolling the fields” and playfully named it Weejuns – introducing the world’s very first penny shoe, the Weejun.
